The Anton Dohrn Zoological Station of Naples. Known to many simply as the Aquarium of the Villa Comunale of Naples, the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station is one of the most important research institutes in the world in the field of marine biology and ecology.

You will have the opportunity to choose one of the 4 time bands for your visit:

Old Naples and Typical Dinner

Accompanied walk in the Old Town of Naples, a treasure trove of majestic architecture: historical monuments, mysterious churches, underground catacombs and caves, and beautiful fountains. Some of these landmarks are thousand years old and still preserved in their original condition. Owing to this, UNESCO has declared the area a World Heritage site.

Walking the maze of narrow alleyways to discover Naples’s ancient culture is a lengthy process. Centuries upon centuries of history, layered in the heart of Naples, make it virtually impossible to see everything noteworthy within one day.

The walk starts in Via Santa Lucia, precisely Borgo Santa Lucia, a historic district and Piazza del Plebiscito, one of the symbolic places of Naples, located in the heart of the historic centre and ends with dinner in a typical restaurant.

Spanish Quartiers, Veiled Christ and Napolitan Pizza

Accompanied walk in the Spanish Quarters, an historic part of the city of Naples in the Montecalvario district, arisen in the sixteenth century when the Spanish crown “conquest” the Neapolitan kingdom.

The tour goes on with the visit of the Sansevero Chapel (also called the church of Santa Maria della Pietà or Pietatella), located in the heart of the ancient centre of Naples. Inside we will look at the “The Veiled Christ” a life-size sculpted marble statue, depicting Jesus Christ dead and covered by a transparent shroud, made from the same block as the statue.

The tour ends with an authentic pizza meal.

Street of the Nativity Scenes, the Three Decumani, Neapolis Sotterrata and Typical Pastries

Stroll through the charming chaos of the historical centre, listen to the buzz of the local dialect as you admire churches, elegant squares and historic buildings. Enjoy traditional pastries such as sfogliatella and walk down Via San Gregorio Armeno, also known as “O’ vico de ’pasture” that is the street of the shepherds, is the famous Street of the Nativity Scenes artisans.

It is a real open-air museum where the oldest and most famous crib art shops in the world are located. Workshops, small shops and stalls showing and selling terracotta figurines and nativity scenes, handmade, sometimes even with hand-sewn clothes.

The tour travels along the three decumani of the historic center of Naples, streets steeped in history and culture. The route addresses different aspects of the city, from its history to its culture, which comes down to us from past generations.From the Decumano Maggiore, or Via dei Tribunali, a place steeped in the symbols of Naples such as pizza and traditional Neapolitan classical music, you move on to the Decumano Superiore with its archaeological remains still visible. Finally, we arrive at the lower decumanus of the historic centre, Spaccanapoli.

The tour also includes a unique underground experience taking you through 2,400 years of history, from the ancient Greeks to modern times, unveiling the “womb” of Naples from an archaeological, historical, anthropological, and geological point of view.

One Day in Pompeii

Pompeii is an ancient Roman city in southern Italy that was destroyed by a volcano, Mount Vesuvius. Pompeii’s survival over nearly two millennia makes it one of the most important sites of historical, archaeological, and human significance in the world; it’s also Italy’s second most-visited attraction. The volcano is still active, so the people living in the modern town still live with the risk of another eruption.

Pompeii has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997 as a joint listing with nearby Herculaneum and the Villa Opolontis at Torre Annunziata.

The Ancient Roman Underwater City of Baia

Baia is a pretty seaside town, in the province of Naples, in the Campi Flegrei area, near Pozzuoli, and in ancient Rome, both a.c. that d.c., had become a thriving health resort as well as a commercial and military center of extreme importance.

In Baia the numerous and majestic remains found testify to this; from the imperial baths to the sumptuous temples and the important ruins found underwater. In fact, the phenomenon of bradyseism has existed in this area for millennia, due to the volcanic action of the territory, which caused part of the important ruins to be submerged.

To protect all this, given the importance and vastness of these submerged ruins, the protected marine area of ​​Baia was created in 2002: an underwater archaeological park of unimaginable historical and cultural value where it is possible to dive.
